Whether you are an adult or a child when people experience just how quickly and easily that they learn compared with traditional forms of music tuition you immediately understand what makes the Music Skills Systemtm different. You may even find yourself making comments such as Rhudi, age 14: "the tutors make learning fun and easy"
Damian, age 35: "I have found the approach to teaching the guitar at Music Skills really refreshing and rewarding. I really look forward to my lesson every week."
Sam, age 15: "The lessons at music skills are fluent, I can play a piece of music that I want to play and then develop and understand it faster and better than I would have believed I could before I found Music Skills. I have learnt more in one lesson with Music Skills than in 3 years of drum lessons at school."
Ok, so do we use fairy dust and pixie teeth from a magic pouch to be able to get these results for you? No. There is no magic even though it may seem like that to the student but what there is, is a lot of research and hard work that goes on behind the scenes that you will never even notice.
Music Skills Systemtm is a unique and proven set of methodologies, principles and techniques that have been developed, tested, and trialed having come from the fields of accelerated learning, psychology, biomechanics and other areas. It may sound like a mish mash but in fact it has given rise to a cohesive system that delivers results faster, more effectively and easier than any other we have encountered thus far.
This is why we test the robustness of our approach against any other form of music tuition at any opportunity and publicly as you can hear from the BBC radio challenges:
1. Jo the drum DJ
2. BBC Kate's guitar challenge
The rate of progress you just heard is not confined to your first taste of Music Skills either. Which is why we aim to take you from beginner to band proficient in just 12 months of once a week sessions. For those who already play at a high level we use a coaching mode that will deliver amazing results or we do not charge you a penny. You will not hear that said anywhere else.
Our whole driving force is a simple one encapsulated in our motto: "learning to play better, faster". Everything in our organisation has to aid this one simple statement. Don’t just take our word for it. Although we have a thick book bulging with wonderful comments this is what just a few more students are saying about learning to play with Music Skills.
See what students have said
Don't just take our word for it. Experience a session for yourself and if you cannot genuinely say that you learnt more and faster than before then there will be no charge because we won't have done what we said we can do. The ball is in your court and if you are not yet a Music Skills student pick up the phone today because you have nothing to lose.

Believe it or not we originally wanted to use an existing assessment system for drum guitar and vocal. We looked at the grade system the people first encounter in schools and then all the other ways that were available at the time for students to track their progress but one important feature was missing, without fail.
Not one assessment system used in traditional music tuition reflected how we learn.
This meant that we had to develop, from the ground up, a new and effective assessment system that actually could reflect and reward progress. It had to work with the rates of learning that we were achieving; be robust and fair; target the actual outcomes required for, "learning to play better, faster". By the way, there was another factor we noticed that seemed to be missing in a lot of the assessment systems that we studied: there was no a regard for the outcomes required by the student to be able to perform at their maximum potential. Instead what seemed to be assessed was largely padding that had little or no worth to performance level skills.
Our search, development and testing took us to areas far outside of the music world for answers and we are proud of the results because the music skills level system is helping to produce some very talented people, very quickly.
So having tested it over a number of years now we can say that the work we put in was worth it.
